Bob was born on June 25, 1917 in Louisville, Kentucky and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Holy Redeemer High School and Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Ks. While stationed at the Presidio, San Francisco, Bob met and married Virginia Ball in 1944. In 1951 they moved to Fresno for Bob's work as an engineer for Steiger Construction Co. He later owned and operated Morrow Construction Co. and also worked as an estimator for Kaiser Permanente Construction Services.

Morrow joined the National Guard in 1936 and served in the Philippines and Japan at the close of World War II. He was the commander of the 185th Regiment of the California National Guard 49th Infantry Division here in Fresno.

Bob had been a member of the Serra Club, Lions International, Knights of Columbus. For many years Bob was the "go to guy" for help in decorating the annual Candlelight Guild Ball and for driving the St. Therese nuns around the valley and building small churches around Fresno county.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Fairwinds Retirement Community and St. Agnes Hospice.

Bob is survived by son, Robert Jr.; and daughters, Cynthia and her husband Bill Wookey, Noreen "Bunny" Morrow, Debby and her husband PJ Alderman, Robin and her husband Michael Cohen. He was "Grumpy" to his grandchildren, Sam Wookey, Matt Wookey and his wife Tatum, Zach Wookey and Sofie Cohen as well as his faithful canine companion Pequena.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 11:00 a.m.
