To The Family,
Being 66 years old I well remember the sitcom, "Maude." Bill Macy was the perfect complement for Beatrice Arthur. By today's standards Mr. Macy lived a long life. When the Lord Jesus awakens all those who has fallen asleep in death (John11:11-14), Bill Macy, along with billions of others will not be old or sick and will have the opportunity of living forever in God's new world. This will be a day to rejoice! Please accept my deepest thoughts of sympathy in the passing of your dear loved one.

I have recently been enjoying "Maude" all over again on DVD. Bill Macy was hilarious as Walter Findlay and also did an amazing job with some serious storylines such as Walter's alcoholism and nervous breakdown. In a series so thoroughly dominated by Bea Arthur's title character, Bill managed to emerge from her shadow and make Walter a standout character in his own right. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and send thoughts and condolences to his family and friends.

You were a wonderful tennis buddy of mine in the late 80's and we'd catch a meal at Nibblers on Wilshire. Funny, charming, interesting, and always a gentleman. Of course, you were a great actor because you loved the profession. You will be missed.
